Breaded Pork Chops

I haven’t had a good breaded pork chop for quite some time. When I seen a good special on pork chops at the store I had to grab some to cook up for a stick to your ribs dinner. Here’s an easy recipe you can use to whip up some great breaded pork chops. You can use Italian breadcrumbs and serve with a side of pesto linguini for a filler upper that’s easy to cook and easy on the wallet.

Fry up until it's a nice golden brown, no need to overcook them since their going in the oven to finish.

Cucumber Dill Dip

Since the store had a “2 for a buck” special on cucumbers, I bought a few bucks worth and made up this dip. This goes great with sliced cucumbers, carrots and Rosemary Triscuts. It’s Depending on how you like it, you can just finely dice the cucumbers for a thicker dip or, I used a food processor and added the cucumber and ranch and it made it more consistent in texture. It will stay good for about 3 days in the fridge.

Easy Mushroom Gravy

Here’s a great flavorful gravy that goes awesome with rice, chicken, steak, fries and even pizza! It’s not the fastest sauce to make but it really is worth the wait. You can make up a good amount of this too for super cheap which is a win-win situation.

Beer-Battered Steak Strips

This is a quick recipe for a new way of doing steak. It’s great for a finger food while you’re kicking back with some cold ones relaxing. You can pretty much have this prepped, cooked and cleaned up within an hour so why not try it one weekend. Mix up a bowl of ranch with some parmesan cheese and fresh black pepper and you have a great dipping sauce for these as well!

“Bar Rescue” Episodes and Failures

I’ve been hooked on Bar Rescue since it first came out. It’s another show like Kitchen Nightmares where the host, Jon Taffer, turns over a bar that’s not doing hot and tries to set them up for success. It’s always the same formula: Hidden survellience of the bar. Some screaming at the employees for how shitty of a job they’re doing, introduce new menu/design/drink list and relaunch the new concept.

I always think of what happens with these places after the cameras and hype are gone. They all apparently do pretty well the first month after their relaunch but then the numbers go back to what they were originally. This is a list of the episodes showing which bars went are still open, changed back to their original name or closed their doors. Surprisingly, only a few shut down shop out of a good list of bars, and the majority seem to have stuck with it and gone on.

Orange Sauce

This sauce is really tasty with fish and chicken. You can use it as a baste when you’re grilling to give a lot of fresh flavor to white fish. It takes about 15 minutes to make so it’s something that you want to make up before you start cooking any meat or veggies.
