Firey Tequila Steak Marinade

This marinade is perfect for tequila and beer Saturdays. Thinly sliced Skirt or Flank steak, when allowed to marinate for 2 nights, will practically flake at the fork after you throw it on the grill for a few minutes. You can also use it to marinate chicken for great Pollo Asado burritos. If you save some of the marinade, it makes for a great baste while the meat is grilling.

Pacific Fish Marinade

This marinade makes for a great summer flavor. I’ve used it as a marinade for smoke salmon, which leaves it so moist in the cente. The sweet citrus flavor also works to give a freshness to chicken and pork.  Skewer some vegetables and use this as a baste while they grill. For a good side to whip up quick, slice up some pears and carrots, top with a little of this and mix up. It may sound weird but it’s so tasty.

Sesame Tuna Steaks

You can find tuna steaks on sale from time to time, since they were on special at the store this weekend, I picked some up and made a great glaze, marinated them and threw them on the grill. Made for a tasty lunch along with a caesar salad. Tua only takes a few minutes which is great to make quickly.

Apricot Chicken and Asparagus Stir Fry

I tried this recipe out during the week and it turned out pretty good. I didn’t go off of anything in particular So the recipe is pretty basic, maybe taking all of 20 to prep and cook, and the cost was minimal as well. I made up some rice and along with this was able to feed 3 guys for dinner and still had leftovers for the next day. I used canned diced tomatoes with sweet onions, you can find all types so whatever floats your boat works.Read More »Apricot Chicken and Asparagus Stir Fry

Oreo Truffles

These tasty little treats are super easy to make and they are perfect for an after holiday dinner dessert and go great with coffee for breakfast. Instead of paying way too much for the store brand, you can make your own batch of 40 or so up for about 7$ which is almost unheard of anymore.

Japanese Rose Pickled Ginger

  • by

I am absolutely addicted to the pickled ginger that you find at all the sushi houses. Fresh Pickled Ginger with Wasabi and Soy sauce is so flavorful to me that it goes great on all types of dishes. The price however, is off putting. The small jar of ginger at the store runs about 7 bucks for the small 8 oz jar. If you go thru a ton of this, it definitely is more price effective to make your own, which is surprisingly easy to make.

Velveeta Chocolate Fudge

Here is a wonderful recipe for some trailer park fudge. It’s a great tasting fudge made with Velveeta cheese, and even tho is sounds weird to use cheese for fudge, you would never know this was made with it. The taste truly is exquisite and the sweetness really is delightful.
