Street Tacos

I’ve been hooked watching Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations. There was an episode he did in Mexico that featured a small roadside cart that was whipping up tons of these street tacos.  After watching it, I was craving these little snacks of goodness. They really are extremely easy to make and very cheap. I got about 3 days worth of food, heavy eating mind you, for about $20, which is alot cheaper than going to a fast food place. You can also swap out the beef for chicken if you like.

Buckeyes

These are my favorite treat. Chocolate and Peanut Butter is such a great combo the ingredients are cheap enough that you can get 4 times the amount that you would get buying Reese’s cups, and without all the preservatives and fillers.

Sweet Apricot Chicken Wings

This sauce is awesome.  It does things to your tastebuds that is only legal in Vegas. It’s an Chinese style sweet/hot sauce that is perfect for chicken wings. You can boost up the heat with more Sriracha or Frank’s Red Hot. This will give you a good amount of marinade/glaze and will work for about 5 pounds of wings.

Sweet Southern Yams

Yams are a great side dish to add color and a candy-like sweetness. They’re something to whip up and allow to bake while you’re cooking a main dish. Definitely not healthy by any means, but the taste is worth racking up the calories for.

Instant Tiramisu

This recipe does include raw eggs so elderly, infants and pregnant ladies should prob steer clear of this, but if made and then eaten immediately, there’s not a huge chance of getting sick unless you are using old eggs.

‘Murica’s Best Burger

This recipe makes some of the best burgers you will ever have. The Onion soup mix gives such a perfect even flavor to the beef that they really pair well, giving a good boost without overpowering it with an onion-y taste. Plus you can use this as a good base for adding any other seasonging or add-ins that you want, and it also makes a great meatloaf.

French Onion Grillin’ Glaze

  • by

Here’s a great glaze to use on your next cook-out.  It’s definitely different than barbecue sauce and the usual sauces. The sweetness really comes out as it starts to char on the meat and the glaze begins to caramelize. Try it on chicken and fish for a great new taste that’s sure to please.
