Apricot Chicken and Asparagus Stir Fry

  • by

I tried this recipe out during the week and it turned out pretty good. I didn’t go off of anything in particular So the recipe is pretty basic, maybe taking all of 20 to prep and cook, and the cost was minimal as well. I made up some rice and along with this was able to feed 3 guys for dinner and still had leftovers for the next day. I used canned diced tomatoes with sweet onions, you can find all types so whatever floats your boat works.Read More »Apricot Chicken and Asparagus Stir Fry

Velveeta and Beef Burritos

This weekend there was a sale on Velveeta and Ground beef so why not make the most of it. This whole meal cost about $40 and that included the 30 Pack. It’s cheap, easy and it will last a few days so you can make burritos, enchiladas, tostadas, nachos…. and on and on.

Oreo Truffles

These tasty little treats are super easy to make and they are perfect for an after holiday dinner dessert and go great with coffee for breakfast. Instead of paying way too much for the store brand, you can make your own batch of 40 or so up for about 7$ which is almost unheard of anymore.

Marinated Garlic Salad

Here’s a super easy recipe for all you Garlic lovers out there. Marinated Garlic goes great on the side of Steaks / Chicken / Pork or vegetables. You can also add Hot Peppers to the jars as well. Jalapenos and some Chili powder for a southwest flavor, a few drops of Sesame Oil and a couple Thai Chiles for an Asian style or Scotch Bonnet peppers and a tsp of Allspice for a Jamaican Jerk style Garlic.

Homemade Cured Bacon

I found this instructable on making your own cured bacon. It was taken from a recipe out of  Charcuterie. This would make for a really neat weekend project, plus it will give you the option to add your own seasonings and flavors…. maybe a Sweet Habanero Breakfast Bacon.

Japanese Rose Pickled Ginger

  • by

I am absolutely addicted to the pickled ginger that you find at all the sushi houses. Fresh Pickled Ginger with Wasabi and Soy sauce is so flavorful to me that it goes great on all types of dishes. The price however, is off putting. The small jar of ginger at the store runs about 7 bucks for the small 8 oz jar. If you go thru a ton of this, it definitely is more price effective to make your own, which is surprisingly easy to make.
