How to Roast Peppers the Easy Way

Here are 2 quick ways to Roast and Skin any type of pepper. Alot of recipes that have a smoother consistency, like Ajvar or Hell Raiser Hot Garlic Spread, use roasted peppers.  You can roast the peppers on a grill, broil them in the oven, fry them in a pan or even roast them over an open flame.

  1. Slice Peppers in half and de-seed. Use a brush to lighty oil inside and outside of the peppers.
  2. Grill on High over open flame for 5 minutes each side or Broil in the oven for 7-8 minutes each side, removing when skin starts to blister and blacken.
  3. Place peppers in a large bowl and cover with plastic wrap or place in large zip-lock bag for 15-20 minutes. The steam will help to loosen up the skins making it so much easier to peel the skin right off.
