Sam Raimi has a new movie coming out which looks pretty good. It has all the standard Raimi trademarks of creepy shit coming out of people’s mouths, flying bugs everywhere, and a fair amount of Jewish mysticism.
The movie, supposedly based on a true story, is about a family who’s daughter finds an old Jewish wine box that has been possessed by a dybbuk (a lost spirit that inhabits and destroys it’s host) and how the family must unite to overcome it’s evil. It’s coming out August 31st and looks to be a pretty good movie if they don’t go too off the deep end with the premise.
It stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kyra Sedgwick (“The Closer”)Directed by Ole Bornedal, Written by Juliet Snowden & Stiles White, Produced by horror master Sam Raimi along with Rob Tapert and J.R. Young. Presented by Lionsgate and Ghost House Pictures.
