Carolina Slaw

This recipe is for  sweet and tangy North Carolina style slaw. Goes great with pulled pork sandwiches and some Cool Ranch Doritos.


  • 1 Head of Cabbage
  • 1  Bell Pepper
  • 1  Sweet Onion
  • 2 Carrots


  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Cider Vinegar
  • 2/3 Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Dry Mustard
  • 1 tsp Celery Seed


  1. Shred and combine Cabbage, Carrots, Onion and Bell Pepper in large bowl.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
  3. Simmer, stirring, until sugar is dissolved; pour over vegetables and toss well.
  4. Cover and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
